ND State Tournament Recap (Grand Forks)

Grand Forks Central captured the ND state dual tournament title on Oct. 12, topping rival G.F. Red River. It was the Knights' third title in the last four seasons. Minot High was the top WDA finisher, taking fourth. The Magi lost to WF Sheyenne in the third place match. Century was fifth. It was the Patriots' top finish since 2014. Mandan and Bismarck Legacy also competed, but did not place.

In the ND state individual tournament, Cole Wilber of G.F. Central defeated teammate Evan Panzer in the final. Espen Schneider of Red River topped Jake McCormick of Fargo Davies in the third place match. Century's Jared Pitcher was fifth. He defeated Garret Tostenson of Fargo North. The top five place winners earned all-state honors. In doubles play Minot High's Aidan Diehl and Grayson Schaeffer were runner-up to Mason Christensen and Momin Duranni of WF Sheyenne. Legacy's Drew Beasley and Caleb Johnson were third. They defeated Kellan Johnson-Julian Mallory of Red River. The Red River pair of Asher Green-Kyedehl Hulberg were fifth. The top five doubles teams also earned all-state honors.

West Region Tournament Recap (Mandan)

 Minot High captured its third-straight West Region Tournament title on Thursday, Oct. 5 in Mandan. The Magicians, the No. 2 seed, bested No. 4 Mandan in the title match, 3-2. Joining those teams at next week's ND state dual tournament is No. 1 Bismarck Legacy and No. 3 Bismarck Century. Both won state-qualifying duals. 

In the West Region individual tournament, Oct. 6-7, the top eight singles and doubles teams qualified for the ND state tournament. The top five placewinners earned all-WDA honors. Century senior Jared Pitcher won the singles title. He becomes the first Patriot player to do that since his older brother, Mason, in 2019. while the Minot High junior doubles pair of Grayson Schaeffer and Aidan Diehl were the champions. The last Minot pair to win regionals was Aidan and Zach Diehl in 2021. Six WDA teams had at least one state qualifier.
