2023 Boys Soccer Postseason Information

State Soccer Recap

Bismarck Legacy advanced to its first-ever ND state championship match. Jamestown also earned a milestone by reaching the semifinal round for the first time. Minot High was third and Bismarck High picked up a tournament win. Legacy was runner-up, falling to Fargo Shanley in the title. The Deacons won their first crown since 2007. The match was 1-1 midway thru the second half before FS scored the winner. Minot High defeated Jamestown in the third place match. Bismarck High dropped the fifth place contest with Fargo Davies.

WDA Tournament Recap

Bismarck Legacy made history on Saturday, Oct. 7. The Sabers captured its first-ever WDA Tournament title. The No. 1-seeded Sabers rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to top No. 2 Jamestown, 2-1. Both teams were seeking their first tournament title. The win gives Legacy top West seed at the state tournament, Oct. 12-14 in Bismarck. The Blue Jays will be a No. 2 seed. In state-qualifying play, No. 4 Bismarck High defeated rival and No. 5 Century in shootout. The game featured a penalty kick in the final seconds by Century to force the game into extra time. BHS out-scored Century, 4-2, in penalty kicks following two, 10-minute overtime periods. In the second state qualifier, No. 3 Minot High scored two goals in the first two minutes to propel it to a 11-0 triumph over No. 6 Dickinson.
