Minot wins West Region Tournament crown

MANDAN – Minot High earned its third consecutive West Region boys' tennis dual title on Oct. 5 in Mandan. The second-seeded Magi defeated No. 4 Mandan in the title match. Minot High picked up wins at No. 2 and 3 singles and No. 2 doubles en route to the victory and the West's No. 1 seed for the state tourney (Oct. 12).  The Braves, which upset No. 1 seed Bismarck Legacy in the semifinals, were making their first championship appearance since 2013. Bismarck Legacy and Bismarck Century also qualified for the state dual tournament with state-qualifying wins. Legacy topped No. 7 Jamestown while Century edged No. 5 Bismarck High.
