Minot High tops preseason baseball poll

BISMARCK HIGH – Defending WDA regular season champion Minot High collected eight first place votes to earn the top spot in the annual preseason coaches' poll. Bismarck Legacy, which won the 2024 WDA Tournament and was runner-up at the Class A Tournament, was second in voting and picked up the remaining first place votes. Dickinson finished third in voting. Rounding out the poll was Mandan, fourth; Bismarck Century, fifth; Bismarck High, sixth; Williston, seventh; Jamestown, eighth; Minot North, ninth; Bismarck St. Mary's, 10th; and Watford City, 11th.

Notes: The regular season will begin, weather permitting, on Friday, March 28 with some non-conference games…Minot North is competing in its first season as a varsity program…Just the top 10 finishers in the regular season standings will compete in the postseason tournament…Williston will host the quarterfinals, consolation, semifinals, state qualifiers and championship of the conference tournament, May 22-24…Grand Forks will host the Class A Tournament, May 29-31.
