Majettes get top spot in WDA softball poll

BISMARCK – Defending WDA champion Minot High earned seven first place votes and 79 total points to top the 2025 WDA preseason softball coaches’ poll. Class A state champion Dickinson collected three first place votes and 75 total points for second place in the poll. Williston was third with 56 points. 
Bismarck High was fourth in voting with 56 points; Jamestown and Bismarck Legacy tied for fifth with 45 points; Mandan was seventh with 34 points; Bismarck Century was eighth with 33 points; Minot North was ninth with 20 points and TMCHS Belcourt was 10th with nine points. 
Watford City has elected to play a JV schedule against WDA opponents this season. The annual poll was conducted by WDA sports information director, Matt Mullally. Teams received nine points for a first place vote; eight points for second and so on and so forth. Coaches did not include their team when voting.
Notes: This marks the 14th season of WDA-sponsored play...Weather permitting, the season will get underway next month...Minot will host the WDA Tournament, May 22-29 with the Class A Tournament in Grand Forks, May 29-31.
