Legacy wins first WDA Tournament title

BISMARCK – A week after claiming a share of its first WDA regular season boys' soccer crown, the Sabers added another piece of hardware to its banner season. Legacy rallied to defeat Jamestown in the WDA Tournament title match on Oct. 7. It was the program's first conference tournament title. The win gives the Sabers the top seed from the West heading into this week's ND state tournament in Bismarck. The program will try and improve on its third place finish a a season ago. Jamestown, meanwhile, will also look to finish its season on a high note. The Blue Jays shared the WDA regular season championship with Legacy and will  be seeking its first-ever championship. Minot High and Bismarck High are also WDA entries in the tournament. Quarterfinal matches will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 with tournament continuing thru Saturday, Oct. 14 at the MDU Resouces Community Bowl. West Fargo is the defending state champion.
