Dickinson is the pick to repeat as ND state gymnastics team champion

JAMESTOWN -- Dickinson has won the last nine ND state gymnastics titles and it’s a good bet they will make it a perfect 10 this weekend, Feb.28-March 1, at Jamestown High School's Jerry Meyer Arena. Yes, the program is that dominant. 
The Midgets (147.841 scoring avg.) have won every meet they entered this season, so no surprise they enter the state championships as the top-ranked team. Depth and talent is what separates the Midgets program from the rest of the field. And a look at the individual rankings show a lot of orange and black at, or near the top each event category. 
Day one of the state championships is the team competition and Dickinson is particularly strong on the balance beam and in the floor exercise. Teams expected to vie for a top three finish include host Jamestown (142.865) and Minot High (138.875). Bismarck Century (137.731), Bismarck Legacy (133.921) and Mandan (134.075) could also challenge for a top three finish with a strong performance.
The the individual championships are on Saturday, March 1. Dickinson junior Aspen Roadarmel tied for the all-around title a season ago with teammate Elizabeth Karsky. Dickinson sophomore Reygan Strommen was third. Strommen (38.867) enters as the top-ranked all-around gymnast with Roadarmel (38.475) in second position. Jamestown senior Julia Skari is third (38.192).
In addition to WDA teams participating in the team championship, Bismarck High and Northwest Stars (Ray-Tioga-Stanley) will also field gymnasts in the individual meet. EDC teams Fargo and Breckenridge-Wahpeton will also compete.
