FARGO - After losing a heartbreaker to WF Sheyenne in extra time in the quarterfinal round on Thursday night, just how was (3W) Bismarck High going to respond in its Friday afternoon consolation match with (4E) G.F. Red River was the question.

Well, it took the Demons about 40 minutes to hit its stride. And did they ever. After trailing, 2-1 entering the second half, BHS erupted for six goals to blitz the Roughriders, 7-2. Senior standout Camren Haase scored three and assisted on two markers by Cole Hogan. The win moves the Demons into the fifth place match against EDC champion Fargo South. The offensive outburst was welcoming for a team that struggled to get many scoring opportunities in the quarterfinal. Judd Sorenson and Daniel Matthews also scored goals. Eight players registered a least one point. Goalkeeper Ean Marcus allowed two first half goals, but had a clean sheet in the second.

The win over Red River was its second this season and improved BHS to 10-5-4 overall while Red River ended their season at 10-6-4.
