West Fargo defeats Century, 1-0

October 15, 2026  ·  Boys Soccer  ·  WDA Sports

FARGO - (3E) West Fargo's quickness and ball movement in the attacking half of the pitch proved difficult to reign in for (2W) Century in its state quarterfinal at Fargo North HS Field on Oct. 15. And when Century leading goal scorer Cale McEvers left late in a scoreless first half due to injury and did not return, the Pats really had their work cut out for them.

West Fargo knew that, and took advantage, by pushing the pace in the second half, leading to senior Lincoln Cole's goal in the 48th minute on a counter attack. Windy conditions and the Packers' offensive counter plays proved too much as the Patriots fell 1-0. The victory extended West Fargo's unbeaten streak to nine matches. Century, meanwhile, dropped its fourth match in a row and fell to 9-5-3 overall. The Patriots will look to rebound when it faces (1E) Fargo South in a consolation match on Oct. 16 while West Fargo takes on (4W) Mandan-St. Mary's in the semifinals.
