GRAND FORKS - There would be no comeback attempt this week for Jamestown, unfortunately. Grand Forks Central made sure of that, building a sizable lead en route to a decisive 40-14 non-conference victory over the Blue Jays at Cushman Field on Sept. 4. The Knights improved their record to 2-0 overall. Jamestown falls to 1-1 overall.

GFC lead 27-0 before Jamestown got on the board on quarterback Brady Nenow's 3-yard pass to Edison Walters. However, Jamestown's offense couldn't rally like it did in a week one come-from-behind triumph over Wahpeton.

Jamestown's offense had difficulty against the Knights, unable to move the ball at times. Nenow had just nine completions for 77 yards. Ryder Stoddart's 3 carries for 63 yards was a team high. Central quarterback Brody Leddige had a big game, completing 12 passes, four for touchdowns and 277 yards through the air. This was the fifth-straight season the teams have met. Jamestown holds a 23-16 lead in the all-time series.

Jamestown will look to bounce back in their next matchup against Central Cass on September 11, while Grand Forks Central prepares to face a solid Dickinson team, who also boasts a 2-0 record, on the same day.
