MINOT - Offense was on full display in Minot High and Minot North's WDA battle on Aug. 25 at Duane Carslon Stadium. The rivals combined for eight goals; all coming in the first half. Minot High netted the first four in an 11-minute span. Two off the foot of Carson Fiske. Minot North's Jayden Marshall put the Sentinels on the board, but the Magi regained its four-goal cushion. Minot North added two more before the first 40 minutes was in the books. Both teams showed more defensive discipline in the second half. Minot goalie Honour Amsbury had three stops and also chipped in with an assist. Griffin Wald had five saves for North. The five goals is a season-high for Minot which is 2-0-1. The loss, meanwhile, was the first for the Sentinels.
Minot will face Legacy (1-1 WDA, 1-1 overall) on August 27, while Minot North will prepare to meet Century (1-1 WDA, 1-1 overall) on the same day.
