BISMARCK - Bismarck High School edged out Century 5-4 in a closely contested boys tennis match on Sept. 3 at Tom O'Leary Courts. Both teams split singles play, but the Demons earned two of three doubles victories to secure the conference dual win, one by injury default. The victory improved Bismarck's record to 1-2 in the Western Dakota Association and 3-5 overall, while Century fell to 0-2 in the conference and 4-3 overall.
Reed Romsaas was instrumental for Bismarck, winning both his singles and doubles matches. His performance set the tone for the home team, which took two of the three doubles matches to secure the conference win.
In addition to Romsaas, Bismarck's doubles teams displayed strong coordination and strategy, contributing significantly to the overall victory. This team effort was crucial in clinching the match against a competitive Century squad.
Century will look to bounce back against West Fargo Sheyenne, while Bismarck prepares to face undefeated Minot on September 8.
