DEVILS LAKE - Kindred opened their season with a commanding 35-0 victory over Devils Lake on Friday night at Roller Field in a matchup of teams that met a season ago in the Division AA semifinals. This time, the Vikings earned the win and start 1-0 overall, while Devils Lake starts the season 0-1.

Kindred's offense was led by quarterback Ethan Johnson, who threw for two touchdowns. Running back Alex Peterson contributed significantly with a rushing touchdown and over 100 yards on the ground.

Defensively, Kindred's Jake Thompson stood out with an interception and multiple tackles, helping to keep Devils Lake off the scoreboard. The Vikings' defense was relentless throughout the game.

Looking ahead, Kindred will face St. Mary's, who are 0-1 overall, on September 11. Devils Lake will look to bounce back against Central Cass, who are 1-0 overall, on September 4.
