Central Cass defeats Watford City, 24-6

WATFORD CITY - Central Cass' opened their season with a 24-6 victory over Watford City in the season opener for both Division AA schools on Aug. 28 at Fridley Field.
Trysten DeVrie's 56-yard run in the third quarer provided the Wolves their lone score. Central Cass led 14-0 at halftime. Blaise Cotton hauled in a couple of scoring passes from Brody Kegney to provide the bulk of the scoring for the Squirrels. CC also had three field goals.
The Wolves ground game amassed 196 yards, but their passing game sputtered, in large part, to CC defensive pressure. Central Cass will face Devils Lake, who are 0-1, on September 4. Watford City will look to bounce back against Wahpeton, also 0-1, on September 4.
