MINOT - Fargo Davies edged Minot 47-40 in a thrilling non-conference matchup on Aug. 28 at Duane Carlson Stadium, improving to 1-0 on the season while Minot starts at 0-1.
The Magicians led 14-9 at the half and enjoyed a 26-17 advantage in the third quarter before the Eagles took control. Ryder Sutton was a standout for Minot, completing 12 of 17 passes for 150 yards and rushing for 230 yards and four touchdowns. Tariq Bell also made a significant impact with 99 receiving yards and two scores.
For Fargo Davies, Bennett Simmers led the rushing attack with 155 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Frederick added 105 rushing yards and a crucial score, contributing to the balanced offensive effort. The Eagles won their fourth-straight game against the Magi.
Fargo Davies will next face Century (0-1) on September 4, while Minot prepares to meet West Fargo Sheyenne (0-1) on the same date.
