BISMARCK - Fargo Davies edged out Century 3-2 in the regular season finale for both teams on Sept. 25 at Sertoma Courts. The Patriots concluded their regular season with a 4-3 WDA and 10-7 overall record.
The non-conference match was highlighted by strong singles performances from Century's Ryan Mullally and Connor Michela. Mullally secured a victory at No. 1 singles, winning in straight sets. Michela followed suit at No. 2 singles, also clinching his match in straight sets. Century nearly swept the singles as Beckett Henderson went to a super set tie-break in set three before falling.
The decisive point came down to the No. 1 doubles match, however, which also went to a super set tie-breaker. Both teams had match points, but Fargo Davies, which shared the EDC regular season title with G.F. Red River, ultimately prevailed. Century will next compete in the West Region Dual Tournament in Minot on October 1, where they will face Bismarck, who holds a 3-4 WDA and 6-10 overall record.
