DICKINSON - Mandan-St. Mary's erupted for four second half goals to continue their impressive start to the season with a 5-2 triumph over Dickinson on Aug. 27 in Western Dakota Association action.
The Mavericks got on the board just two minutes into the match and then later enjoyed a 2-1 lead early in the second half before Mandan-St. Mary's offense got rolling. The match turned around the 62nd minute as M-SM took the lead on senior Caden Wondra's first tally. A couple minutes later Liam Gardner scored and Wondra added another four minutes later. Wondra finished with three points (2G, 1A). Mandan-SM improved to 2-0-1 overall, while Dickinson fell to 1-3 in the Western Dakota Association and overall.
Next up, Mandan-St. Mary's will face Legacy, who are 1-1 in the WDA and overall, on September 1. Dickinson will also meet Legacy on September 3, aiming to bounce back.
