BISMARCK - Dickinson and Legacy played to a 1-1 draw in a tightly-contested match on Sept. 3 at Sanford Sports Complex. The draw extends Legacy's streak to three consecutive ties, showcasing their solid defensive play, having allowed only six goals in six matches. The Saber are now 1-2-3 overall and in conference play. Dickinson moved to 1-3-1 overall and in the WDA.
Dickinson's Erik Villslobos opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a well-placed penalty kick, giving the Mavericks an early lead. Just three minutes later, Legacy’s Sam Godade found the back of the net, leveling the score and setting the stage for a defensive battle.
Both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the match, with neither side able to break the deadlock after the initial flurry of goals.
Looking ahead, Dickinson will face Williston (1-3 WDA, 1-3 overall) on September 8, while Legacy prepares to take on Bismarck (2-2 WDA, 3-2 overall) on the same day.
