BISMARCK - Minot North improved to 3-0-0 overall on the season and 2-0-0 in conference play with a one-goal victory over defending conference champion Legacy on Aug. 18.
The lone goal came 16 minutes into the opening half when Gavin Wald intercepted an errant pass and quickly turned up field, rifiling a ball over the outstretched arms of Saber goalie James Erickson. The Sentinels offense produced several more chances, but Erickson turned them aside. Legacy, which was making its season debut, had some attack opportunities of its own, but couldn't get one past North's netminder Griffin Wald.
Minot North will look to continue their unbeaten streak against Jamestown (0-2 WDA, 0-2 overall) on August 20. Legacy, meanwhile, will aim to bounce back when they face Dickinson (0-1 WDA, 0-1 overall) on the same day.
