MANDAN - Ties seem to be a common theme between Mandan-St. Mary's and Bismarck High on the pitch. For the third time in the past five meetings, the teams settled for a draw. This time, it was a 1-1 score on August 25 at Starion Sports Complex.
After a scoreless opening half, BHS would open the scoring on Liam Chathams goal at the 44th minute mark. Mandan would get the equalizer on Zayden Koppy's shot six minutes later. It was difficult for both teams to generate much offense. The draw extended the Demons' unbeaten streak to four matches. Mandan-St. Mary's remains unbeaten at 1-0-1 and is 2-0-3 vs. BHS over the past three seasons. Bismarck High will next face Minot, who holds a 2-0-1 record in both WDA and overall play, on September 3. Mandan-St. Mary's will meet Dickinson, currently 1-2-0 in WDA and overall, on August 27.
