Bismarck defeats Jamestown, 2-1

August 18, 2026  ·  Boys Soccer  ·  WDA Sports

JAMESTOWN - Bismarck secured a 2-1 victory over Jamestown in a tightly-contested conference matchup at Rotary Field. Bismarck improved to 1-1 in the Western Dakota Association and 2-1 overall, while Jamestown fell to 0-2 in both the conference and overall standings.

Jamestown set the pace in the opening 20 minutes and was rewarded with a penalty kick. Grady Eckart staked the Blue Jays to a 1-0 lead, netting the PK try. Later in the half, Bismarck High tied it when Daniel Matthews found Camren Haase alone near the front of the Jamestown goal. He chipped the ball into the top of the goal. The Demons would get the winner in early in the second half. Irvin Lozano would boot the ball while on the run past Jamestown goalie Evan Harty. Bismarck High did an effective of job of controlling the ball in the final 15 minutes, not allowing Jamestown to mount any sustained attack.
