BISMARCK - It took just one play for Bismarck High to get its 2026 campaign off and running. An 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Garett Randolph and the Demon never looked back in a 32-20 win over visiting West Fargo at the MDU Resources Community Bowl on Aug. 28.

After Randolph added a TD run on BHS' next possession, the defense took got into the scoring act. Junior linebacker Mark Bauman stepped in front of an intended pass by West Fargo quarterback Ryan Camarillo and ran 23 yards into the end zone. He would add a second pick six a few minutes later. The second covering 68 yards. BHS led 25-6 at the half and the Packers reduced the deficit with an Ashton Wigestrand 18-yard run in the the quarter, but running back Ashton Dutchuk's three-yard TD run provided an answer for the Demons. This victory marks Bismarck's fifth consecutive win over the Packers and their third straight season-opening victory. Next up, Bismarck will face Fargo North, who are 0-1 overall, on September 4. West Fargo will look to bounce back against Legacy, who are 1-0 overall, also on September 4.
