MANDAN - Williston won its second-straight conference match, sweeping Mandan on the road on Sept. 10 at Starion Bank Gymnasium. The victory improved the Coyotes to 2-3 in the Western Dakota Association and 3-8 overall. Mandan now stands at 1-3 WDA and 5-5 overall.

Williston showed its strong defense with 111 combined digs by four players. Alex Austreim led the way with 31. Rylee Irgens had 29; Averi Austreim had 28 and Kambree McIvor, 23. Abigale Ferland finished with eight kills. Mandan was paced by AnnaClaire Bugbee's 13 kills. Hadley Harris quick to a lot of balls in the back row, illustrated from her 29 digs. Sierra Gustavsson added 17 and Kennedy Keller had 15. Gustavsson also had 25 assists.

The final set proved to be the most back-and-forth. Mandan rallied to tie it at 23-all, but Williston came out of a timeout and claimed the next two points.

Next up, Williston will face Century, who holds a 4-0 WDA record, on September 15. Mandan will look to bounce back against Dickinson, who are currently 0-4 in the WDA, also on September 15.
