Minot North defeats Williston, 3-0

WILLISTON - Minot North secured a 3-0 victory over Williston on Sept. 3 at WHS Jon Cole Gymniasum, improving to 1-1 in the Western Dakota Association and 3-5 overall. Williston fell to 0-2 in the conference and 1-7 overall.
Minot North was paced by the impressive performance of Brynn Francis. The senior had 15 kills, 12 assists and 11 digs. Kailyn McKechnie added solid defense, making 21 digs. Elli Laskowski had 10 assists and eight digs. LeAnne Sim finished with 17 assists and nine digs.
Averi Austreim and Abigale Ferlan led the Coyotes with nine kills each, showcasing their offensive prowess. Alex Austreim contributed significantly with 20 assists, facilitating the team's efforts in each set.
Minot North's first road and conference win came through a strong performance in the first set, followed by a hard-fought second set against a determined Williston squad. The Sentinels' teamwork and resilience were key to their success.
Looking ahead, Minot North will face Dickinson (0-1 WDA, 1-6 overall) on September 5, while Williston prepares to host Jamestown (1-0 WDA, 5-2 overall) on the same day.
