BISMARCK - Legacy carried much of the play in sets one and two against rival Century on Oct. 20 at Olson Gymnasium, but had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard. The Sabers trailed 2-0 despite holding multi-point leads deep in both sets. How did the Sabers respond to the adversity?

By playing some of their best volleyball of the season. Legacy won the next three set to earn the thrilling come-from-behid victory and remain in the hunt for a top two finish in the conference standings. It was the squad's second WDA win over the Patriots.

In the pivotal fifth set, Legacy never trailed and displayed strong play at the net. Century twice cut the deficit to two points and held off a pair of match points before succumbing, 15-13.

Legacy's Brooklyn Pudwill delivered 13 kills, and Gracie Watson showcased her all-around skills with 12 kills, 14 digs, and 3 blocks. Zoe Flemmer orchestrated the offense with 29 assists and added 13 digs. There were plenty of others who made key contributions.

Same for the Patriots. Aurora Gross led her team with 14 kills, while Lily Edinger contributed 13 kills. Kinley Pedersen was a defensive standout with 27 digs, and Kenley Melby added 23 assists and 18 digs.

Legacy improved to 12-3 in the WDA and 20-8 overall, while Century now stands at 13-2 in the WDA and 21-6 overall. The loss was just the first in 10 WDA matches for Century.

Legacy will face Williston (6-9 WDA, 7-14 overall) on October 27, while Century prepares to meet Bismarck (10-5 WDA, 21-7 overall) on the same date.
