MINOT - Century's defense thwarted Minot's scoring opportunity early in the fourth quarter when Josiah Johnson snared an interception in the end zone to preserve the Patriots' four-point lead. Then, Century's run game added a little insurance.

Century chewed a good amount of clock and slowly, but surely moved the ball down the field. Carter Wylde ended the drive with a five-yard TD run. However, it was the previous play that was the highlight. Quarterback Kaden Welstad found Sammy Hill on a roll out on fourth down to extend the drive. The 21-10 final score improved Century's mark to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in WDA play. Minot, meanwhile, fell to 0-3 in the WDA and 0-7 overall.

Minot again got off to a good start as standout quarterback Ryder Sutton showed off his running ability. Sutton appeared to be heading out of bounds, but then turned back up field and weaved his way for 25-yard TD run.

Century would tie the score on General Daschendoft's 15-yard scamper. The Pats took the lead for good on Welstad's TD pass to Zakai Harildstad. Welstad would roll out to his right and put the ball right on the money for a 35-yard connection. The late-scoring drive took just three plays. It enabled Minot one more opportunity to try and get points before halftime. Minot did just that. A nice sideline pass stopped the clock with two seconds remaining. Tayson Solper booted a 21-yard field goal to end the half at 14-10 in favor of Century. Both defenses did an effective job in the third quarter. Minot was able to move the ball deep into Century territory before the turnover. Century will face Legacy (2-1 WDA, 5-2 overall) on October 16, while Minot will meet Mandan (2-1 WDA, 4-3 overall) on the same date.
