MINOT - Minot North continued its undefeated season with a 20-6 victory over Grand Forks Red River in the first round of the playoffs, improving to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the Western Dakota Association. Red River concluded their season with a 4-6 record overall and 2-3 in the AA East.
Christian Deadmond led the way for Minot North, rushing for 120 yards and scoring two touchdowns on 20 carries. Deadmond's performance was complemented by Evan Berg, who added 62 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown.
Quarterback Brayden Blikre was efficient through the air, completing 5 of 7 passes for 104 yards. Josia Jaquinet was his top target, hauling in three receptions for 77 yards. On defense, Deadmond also shined with seven solo tackles and five assists, while Berg contributed six solo tackles and four assists.
Minot North advances to the AA semifinals for the second consecutive year, showcasing a balanced attack and a staunch defense that shut out Red River after the first quarter.
