GRAND FORKS - Minot secured a 3-2 victory over Fargo North in the State Tournament Consolation Semifinals, improving their record to 18-7 overall and 5-2 in the Western Dakota Association. Fargo North concluded their season with a 2-3 record overall.
Minot's success was highlighted by strong performances in both singles and doubles matches. Arvan Panwalkar led the way with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win over Nolan Moore in singles play. Connor Ressler also delivered a clutch victory, overcoming John Bourke in a three-set thriller, 7-6, 1-6, 7-2.
In doubles, the team of Henrik Evanoff and Tyson Barden clinched a crucial point for Minot by defeating Nate Wilson and Dhimant Mannuru, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-5. This victory helped secure Minot's advancement in the tournament.
Minot will next face Bismarck Legacy, who hold a 7-0 record in the WDA and a 17-6 overall record, in their upcoming match on October 9.
