GRAND FORKS - Grand Forks Central edged Mandan 3-2 in the state tournament semifinals, improving their record to 3-0 overall. Mandan now stands at 19-3 overall, 6-1 in the WDA.

In singles play, Jared Christen secured a victory for Mandan, defeating Jason Ling in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. However, Grand Forks Central's Rylan Spicer dominated his match against Matthew Christen, winning 6-1, 6-0.

Deklan Wollschlager added another singles win for Mandan, overcoming Isaiah Cormier with scores of 6-3, 7-5. In doubles, Grand Forks Central's teams claimed both matches, with Brady Fee and Kasen Panzer winning 7-5, 6-2, and Henning Gibbs and Charlie Miedema clinching their match 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

Mandan will compete for third place against Grand Forks Red River, who hold a 2-0 overall record, on October 9.
