GRAND FORKS - West Fargo Sheyenne advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament with a decisive 5-0 victory over Jamestown. The Mustangs improved to 8-0 overall, while the Blue Jays ended their season with a 7-11 record.
Brandt Aslakson led the charge for West Fargo Sheyenne in singles play, defeating Luke LeFevre 6-2, 6-2. Leighton Heick followed with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win over Braxton Burkett. Tyler Duffy completed the singles sweep with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Aden Oettle.
In doubles action, the Mustangs continued their dominance. Carson Peterson and Jordan Clemenson teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kale Backen and Haden Smith. Nick Angus and Loghyn Schroeder secured the final point with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Rajen Bansal and Josh Sagaser.
Jamestown, playing in its first dual tournament since 2020, showed determination throughout the match. They will face Bismarck Legacy, who holds a 16-6 record, in their next game on October 9.
