BISMARCK - Jamestown defeated Minot North 3-2 in a tightly contested WDA Tournament State Qualifier, improving their record to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in the WDA, while Minot North finished their season at 7-10 overall and 3-4 in the WDA.
Luke LeFevre led Jamestown with a commanding singles victory over Colton Griffith, winning 6-2, 6-1. Braxton Burkett also secured a singles win for the Blue Jays, defeating Brayden Callahan 7-5, 6-3. These performances were crucial in Jamestown's advancement.
In doubles action, the duo of Aden Oettle and Josh Sagaser clinched the decisive match for Jamestown with a hard-fought 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory against Peyton Opp and Mason Knittel. This win sealed Jamestown's place in the ND state dual tournament as the West's No. 4 seed.
Jamestown will next face West Fargo Sheyenne, who holds an impressive 7-0 record, on October 9. Minot North's season concluded with this match.
