MANDAN - Mandan edged Bismarck Legacy 3-2 to capture the WDA Tournament Championship, improving to 18-2 overall and 6-1 in the WDA. Legacy fell to 16-6 overall and 7-0 in the WDA.

Jared Christen led Mandan with a straight-set victory over Connor Svihovec, winning 6-1, 6-4. Matthew Christen followed with a hard-fought win against Declan Hosek, coming back to take the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles, Mandan's Donaven Birdine and Eli Kleinknecht secured the victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Andrew Jones and Kevin Kalb. Despite a win from Braxton Spooner and Carter Madison for Legacy, Mandan's singles dominance sealed the championship.

Mandan will advance as the West's No. 1 seed in the state dual tournament, facing Fargo North (2-1 overall) on October 9. Legacy enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed and will meet Grand Forks Red River (1-0 overall) on October 9.
