BISMARCK - Minot emerged victorious with a 4-1 win over Jamestown in the WDA Tournament Quarterfinals, improving their record to 16-5 overall and 5-2 in the WDA. Jamestown fell to 5-10 overall and 2-5 in the WDA.
Nolan Moore led Minot in singles, defeating Luke LeFevre 6-3, 6-1. Oliver Thompson also secured a win for Minot, overcoming Braxton Burkett 6-1, 6-4. Tyson Barden put up a strong fight against Aden Oettle, but Jamestown took that match 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles, the Minot pair Calvin Olson and Owan Sundahl triumphed in a thrilling match against Haden Smith and Josh Sagaser, winning 6-7 (5), 6-0, 10-8. Connor Ressler and Henrik Evanoff dominated their match, winning 6-1, 6-1 against Kale Backen and Rajen Bansal.
Minot advances to face Mandan, who holds a 16-2 overall record and is 6-1 in the WDA. Jamestown will play Williston, who are 3-13 overall and 1-6 in the WDA, on October 2.
