FARGO - Bismarck High secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Fargo South on Friday, marking their first win of the season. Bismarck now stands at 1-10 overall, while Fargo South is 0-2.
In singles play, Joshua Wilkinson of Fargo South defeated Reed Romsaas with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Bismarck's Max Chouinard rallied to overcome Henry Wuitschick in a competitive match, finishing 0-6, 6-3, 10-6. Quinn Kleser added another win for Bismarck, besting Noah Schultz 6-3, 6-4.
The doubles matches saw Fargo South's Cade Youngquist and Cameron Grieger triumph over Quinn Roberson and Grayson Grinaker 6-0, 6-4. However, Bismarck's duo of Miles Hanson and Seth Peterson clinched the decisive match against Otto Balvitsch and Landon Kirkeby, winning 7-6 (4), 6-2.
Bismarck will look to build on this momentum as they face Jamestown (1-3 WDA, 4-7 overall) on September 16.
