FARGO - Minot High edged Fargo South 3-2 in a non-conference boys' tennis match, improving to 12-2 overall, while Fargo South opened their season at 0-1.

Minot's Henrik Evanoff secured a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory in singles play, contributing significantly to the team's overall win. Tyson Barden also delivered a strong performance for Minot, winning his singles match 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, the Minot pair of Oliver Thompson and Aiden Bye clinched a 6-1, 6-3 victory, ensuring the team's narrow win over Fargo South. Despite the loss, Fargo South's Josh Wikinson put up a tough fight, winning his singles match against Connor Ressler 7-6 (13), 6-2.

Minot will face West Fargo Sheyenne, who are 6-0 overall, in their next match on September 12. Fargo South will look to bounce back against Bismarck, who hold a 0-10 overall record, also on September 12.
