GRAND FORKS - Grand Forks Red River defeated Jamestown 7-1 in a non-conference boys' tennis match on September 12. Red River improved to 1-0 overall, while Jamestown fell to 4-6 overall, 1-3 in the WDA.

Julian Mallory led Red River in singles play with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over Aden Oettle. Kevin Martinez also secured a victory, defeating Kale Backen 6-3, 6-0. Max McDonald contributed with a 7-6 (7), 6-1 win against Haden Smith, while Alex Eickman completed the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Rajan Bansal.

In doubles, Jamestown's duo of LeFevre and Burkett earned their team's sole win, defeating Max Mecham and Cullen Rost 6-3, 6-1. However, Red River's pairs of Kyler Bydal and Gabe Schauer, Cullen McDonald and Ethan Mason, and Jack Johnson and Byrton Kuenzel each won their matches in straight sets.

Jamestown will face Grand Forks Central next, while Grand Forks Red River prepares for a matchup against Bismarck Legacy on October 9.
