JAMESTOWN - Minot North edged out Jamestown 5-4 in a tightly contested boys' tennis match on September 11 at Bolinger Courts. The victory brings Minot North to a 2-7 overall record and 1-3 in the Western Dakota Association, while Jamestown falls to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Minot North secured the win by capturing two of the three doubles matches. The duo of Parker Vigestad and Lucas Griffith clinched a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jamestown's Aden Oettle and Kale Backen, contributing significantly to the team's overall success.
In singles play, Jamestown's Luke LeFevre and Brock Burkett delivered strong performances. LeFevre defeated Colton Griffith 6-2, 6-1, while Burkett triumphed over Brayden Callahan in a thrilling three-set match, 6-4, 6-7 (1), 7-5.
Minot North looks to continue their momentum as they face Valley City, who holds a 0-1 record, on September 12. Meanwhile, Jamestown will aim to rebound against Grand Forks Red River, who has yet to play a match this season, also on September 12.
