BISMARCK - West Fargo Sheyenne defeated Bismarck Century 9-0 in a non-conference boys' tennis match on September 6. The Mustangs improved to 3-0 overall, while the Patriots' record stands at 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the WDA.
In singles play, Leighton Heick of West Fargo Sheyenne edged Ryan Mullally in a competitive match, winning 2-6, 6-4, 11-9. Heick staved off several match points to claim the win. Carson Peterson secured a victory over Cullen Satrom with scores of 6-1, 6-2. Nick Angus and Jordan Clemenson also contributed to the Mustangs' success with straight-set wins.
The doubles matches saw continued dominance from West Fargo Sheyenne. The duo of Heick and Clemenson defeated Mullally and Satrom 6-0, 6-2, while Peterson teamed up with Brody Bikic to overcome Parent and Michela 6-4, 6-3. Duffy and Angus rounded out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
West Fargo Sheyenne will face Jamestown (1-2 WDA, 4-3 overall) next, while Bismarck Century prepares to take on Mandan (7-1 overall) on September 9.
