MINOT - Minot North secured a 3-0 victory over Williston in their conference opener, improving to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Western Dakota Association. Williston fell to 0-2 in both overall and conference play.

Emerson Ries opened the scoring for Minot North in the second minute, assisted by Jayden Marshall. The Sentinels extended their lead in the 38th minute with a goal from Christian Guerro, set up by Kai Prescott.

Guerro capped off the scoring in the 74th minute with an unassisted goal, marking his second of the match. Minot North goalkeeper Griffin Wald was solid in net, making seven saves to preserve the shutout.

Williston will look to rebound against Bismarck, who holds a 0-1 record, on August 21. Minot North will face off against cross-town rival Minot, who is currently 2-0, on the same day.
