MINOT - Minot High secured a 2-0 victory over Minot North, improving to 3-0 overall and in the WDA, while Minot North fell to 1-3 overall and in conference play.
Nolan Schmidt opened the scoring for Minot High with an unassisted goal in the 19th minute, setting the tone for the Magicians. Ian Stewart was solid in goal, recording seven saves to keep Minot North off the scoreboard.
Ethan Hanson doubled Minot High's lead early in the second half, scoring in the 47th minute with an assist from Tayson Solper, ensuring a comfortable win for the home side.
Minot High will face Bismarck Legacy (3-0) next on August 26, while Minot North is set to play Bismarck (1-1) on the same day.
