Dominik Heck put Mandan-St. Mary's on the board first with a goal in the 23rd minute, assisted by Caden Wondra. The goal showcased Heck's precision and Wondra's vision, setting the tone for a competitive match.

Minot responded late in the game with Briggs McKibben scoring in the 79th minute, assisted by Callen Hoewt. McKibben's equalizer was crucial in maintaining Minot's strong start to the season.

Mandan-St. Mary's will next face Williston on September 2, while Minot is set to play Jamestown on September 6.
