BISMARCK - Bismarck Legacy edged Minot North 2-1 in a tightly contested boys' soccer match, improving to 5-0 in the Western Dakota Association, 5-1 overall. Minot North fell to 2-2 in the WDA, 2-4 overall.
Minot North struck first with Jayden Marshall scoring in the 22nd minute, assisted by Gavin Wald. Legacy responded with a penalty kick from Uriel Rivera in the 32nd minute to level the score.
Legacy secured the win early in the second half when Owan Joyce found the net in the 48th minute, assisted by James-Matthew Guenther. Both goalkeepers, Macklin Kelly for Minot North and James Erickson for Legacy, recorded five saves each, showcasing strong defensive efforts.
Legacy remains unbeaten in conference play as they prepare to face Bismarck Century (3-1 WDA, 3-1 overall) on September 2. Minot North looks ahead to their matchup against Dickinson (0-5 WDA, 0-5 overall) also on September 2.
