WILLISTON - Bismarck Legacy edged Williston 1-0 in their season opener, improving to 1-0 overall and in the WDA. Williston starts their season at 0-1.
Kellen Okerson scored the game's only goal in the 64th minute, assisted by Trenten Stafslien, to give Legacy the victory.
Legacy's goalkeeper, James Erickson, was instrumental in the win, recording eight saves to keep Williston scoreless. Williston's Tristan Boots made five saves in a strong defensive effort.
Bismarck Legacy will next face Mandan-St. Mary's on August 19, while Williston will look to bounce back against Minot North on the same day.
