DICKINSON - Minot High opened their season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Dickinson, improving to 1-0 overall and in the WDA, while Dickinson starts at 0-1.
Tayson Solper and Nolan Schmidt each scored twice for Minot. Solper found the net in the 14th and 29th minutes, with Schmidt adding goals in the 15th and 60th minutes. Dylan Oswalt was pivotal, assisting on three of the goals.
Minot's defense was solid, with goalkeeper Ian Stewart making three saves. Dickinson's Paxton Paulson was active in goal, recording 13 saves despite the loss.
Minot will face Bismarck Century, who also won their opener, on August 19. Dickinson will look to bounce back against Jamestown, also on August 19.
