BISMARCK - Bismarck Century edged out Williston 1-0 on Thursday night at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Century improved to 4-4-1 in the Western Dakota Association, while Williston fell to 2-6-1.
Cale McEvers scored the lone goal of the match in the third minute, assisted by Charlie Anderson. This early strike proved decisive as Century's defense held firm throughout the game.
Goalkeeper Nicholas Schlinger was instrumental in maintaining the shutout for Century, recording five saves. On the other side, Williston's Tristan Boots made eight saves, showcasing his skills between the posts.
Century snapped a three-match losing streak with this victory. They will next face Minot, who are currently 5-3 in the WDA, on September 18. Williston will look to bounce back against Minot North, who stand at 6-2 in the WDA, also on September 18.
