BISMARCK - Minot North edged out Bismarck Century 1-0 in a tightly contested WDA boys' soccer match. Minot North improves to 4-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference, while Bismarck Century falls to 3-3-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the WDA.
The decisive moment came in the 46th minute when Emerson Ries found the back of the net for Minot North with an unassisted goal. The goal was scored with the wind, which played a significant role throughout the match.
Defensively, Minot North's Griffin Wald recorded one save to secure the shutout. On the other side, Century's Ethan Ziegler made three saves, keeping his team in the game until the final whistle.
Minot North will look to continue their momentum against Mandan-St. Mary's (2-2 overall) on September 9. Bismarck Century will aim to bounce back when they face Jamestown (2-4 WDA, 2-4 overall) on the same day.
