MINOT - Minot North edged Bismarck 2-1 in a tightly contested boys' soccer match, improving their record to 6-4-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the WDA. Bismarck fell to 4-4-1 overall and in conference play.

Lester Fuentes opened the scoring for Minot North in the 24th minute, assisted by Jayden Marshall. Marshall then doubled the lead with a goal in the 44th minute, with Moses Conteh providing the assist.

Bismarck's Camren Haase scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute to bring his team within one, but Minot North's defense held firm. Drew Haberlock and Griffin Wald combined for eight saves to secure the victory.

Minot North will face Bismarck Legacy (9-1 overall) on September 16, while Bismarck looks to rebound against Dickinson (0-9 overall) the same day.
