BISMARCK - Minot North and Bismarck High played to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night at MDU Resources Community Bowl. Minot North's record moved to 1-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Western Dakota Association, while Bismarck High now stands at 2-1-1 both overall and in the conference.
Minot North took an early lead with Jayden Marshall scoring in the third minute, assisted by Moses Conteh. Emerson Ries doubled the advantage in the eighth minute with a goal set up by John Clark. Bismarck High responded in the 24th minute when Camren Haase converted a penalty kick, narrowing the deficit to 2-1 before halftime.
Bismarck High equalized in the 55th minute through Daniel Matthews, with an assist from Liam Wingenbach. The home team's defense, led by goalkeeper Drew Haberlock with two saves, held firm in the second half to secure the draw. Minot North's Griffin Wald was instrumental in goal, recording eight saves to keep the game level.
Minot North will next face Jamestown (2-1) on August 29, while Bismarck High prepares to take on Mandan-St. Mary's (1-2) on August 28.
