BISMARCK - Bismarck Century edged out Bismarck High 2-1 in a tightly contested season opener. Century starts 1-0 in the WDA, while Bismarck High falls to 0-1.
Teagan Schlichenmayer opened the scoring for Century in the 43rd minute with an unassisted goal. Bismarck High's Camren Haase equalized in the 49th minute, assisted by Daniel Matthews.
Jaxon Jahnke secured the win for Century with a goal in the 54th minute, assisted by Charlie Anderson. Bismarck High's Drew Haberlock made five saves, while Century's Nicolas Schlinger recorded 15 saves, showcasing a strong defensive effort.
Bismarck High will look to rebound against Williston on August 21, while Bismarck Century prepares to face Minot on August 19.
