MANDAN - Bismarck Legacy defeated Mandan 3-0 in a closely contested volleyball match on Thursday night. The win brings Legacy to 4-8 overall and 3-3 in the Western Dakota Association, while Mandan falls to 3-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Legacy's offense was led by Marlee Falcon and Brooklyn Pudwill, each contributing six kills. Bentley Solem orchestrated the attack with 14 assists, while also adding two service aces. On defense, McKenzie Schilke was a standout with 17 digs, complemented by Sammy Watson's 12 digs and four service aces.
For Mandan, Allyson Holzer led with nine kills. Jersey Hammes was pivotal defensively, recording 24 digs, while Hadley Harris added 22 digs. Gabriele Frohlich facilitated the offense with 13 assists. Despite the loss, Mandan showed resilience, keeping each set within four points.
Bismarck Legacy will look to continue their momentum against Williston on September 23, while Mandan aims to rebound against Minot North on the same date.
